From CP-Lab, the developer that brought you the easy to use and powerful encryption tool File Encryption XP, comes Password Manager XP, an application meant to help you securely store and manage your passwords and other information that you would much rather remain private. By using Password Manager XP you can create a password-protected database and store sensitive information in said database.

The Password Manager XP installation file is a very lightweight 2.0MB; even on a less than spectacular internet connection, it will take little time for the download to complete. During the installation process, through which you are led by a setup wizard, you will be asked what components you want to install (the Password Manager XP application files are mandatory, but the multilingual interface, sample database and documentation are not), you will be asked where you want to save the passwords, you will get to choose if you want Start Menu and desktop shortcuts, select if you want Password Manager XP to automatically launch at startup, and specify if you want Password Manager XP to integrate with your browser.

The first time you launch Password Manager XP you will be asked to create a database. You must provide a name, a description, and a password to protect said database. You get to choose the database users, the encryption algorithms used to protect the database, the backup settings for that database, and a few parameters. When you’re done with the database you can create folders and records inside it.

Not only can Password Manager XP store and protect the passwords for your various online accounts, it can also suggest passwords. You can generate a password by right clicking the Password Manager XP icon in the system tray and selecting the Generate Password option from the menu that shows up. Or you can use a keyboard shortcut: Ctrl + Alt + G.

Password Manager XP is free to try for an evaluation period of 30 days. When that trial period is over, you must get a license to keep using the application.

Founded back in 2002 by a group of software developers, CP Lab comes up with software applications for storage, transmission, compression, and encryption of confidential data. As CP Lab explained, the main focus is to come up with applications that are very dependable and user friendly. The applications developed by CP Lab are used by big name companies, such as Siemens, HP, and VISA International; the applications are used by people from more than 70 countries on 5 continents.

Password Manager XP is a multilingual application that works with any Windows version and provides much needed functionality: it helps you safely store and manage passwords and other confidential info.

Pros

Getting the Password Manager XP installation file will take little time. Numerous options to play with during the installation process; can be installed on removable media and on any Windows version from Win95 up to Win7. Support for multiple languages is provided. Simple, easy to use interface. Password Manager XP safely stores your passwords and it suggests passwords.

Cons

Free to try for a 30-day evaluation period.
